Hey, tomorrow night I am taking part in a really fun reading called "You're Being Ridiculous" at a legitimately fancy venue, Mayne Stage. The theme of the night is "Oops!" and I will be reading alongside Lily Be, Nestor Gomez, Archy Jamjun, Jeff Miller, Jeremy Owens, Allison Shoemaker, Kris Vire, and my girl Amy Sumpter. One thing I really like about Mayne Stage is that it's big enough that you can order and eat dinner during the show and nobody will really look at you. I recommend you check it out--if not my night, another time, because it's a really good show. Also the host, Jeremy Owens, asked me to name 5 things about myself that not a ton of people know and I tried really hard to be interesting so if you're my mom you might not want to read it because it involves bodily functions and the like. I should note that I do not know the dog in that photo.

While you're here, this week I wrote an essay for the Seleni Institute called Motherhood and the End of Ego. And I wrote some stuff over at Mom.me, like The Do's and Don'ts of Enjoying Valentine's Day As a Grown-Up, 6 Lessons I Learned After My First Big Trip With My Kid and My Husband Teases My Son and It Drives Me Crazy. I'd like to thank my children for being born and giving me something to write about.
