I've got another, sooner-rather-than-later event I'd like to share with you that I hope to see you at:
Australian smash-hit literary phenomenon Women of Letters is visiting Chicago for the very first time with a line-up of truly incredible women, celebrating the long lost art of correspondence. We will read original letters on an assigned topic, followed by a short, fun, group exercise, and then finish up with a moderated discussion. This will all take place at 8 PM at Chicago's Mayne Stage located on Morse, which means you can drink during the show and/or enjoy the great far north side before and after the show. It will be a great night out, and I highly recommend it if you're the type who is into women, writing, letters, animals (see below), live-lit, truth-telling, gut-spilling, and gut-busting.
Join co-curators Michaela McGuire and Marieke Hardy as they bring together on stage for the first time ever:
Writer, actress and founder of Rookie Magazine TAVI GEVINSON
Author and blogger CLAIRE ZULKEY (that's me!)
Author of Asking for It: The Alarming Rise of Rape Culture KATE HARDING
Author, columnist and children's book editor WENDY McCLURE
Comedian and actress KRISTEN TOOMEY
Actor, physical theatre artist and director KYRA MORRIS
Solo artist, writer and instructor ARLENE MALINOWSKI
We will be writing and reading aloud: 'A letter to the moment the lights came on.' I still have no idea what I'm going to do, but I'll do something!
Join us for a most pleasant evening celebrating a diverse range of strong female talent while simultaneously raising funds for animal rescue shelter, Edgar's Mission.
