A new book, kangaroo questions

FEBRUARY 27, 2002

Today is the day to think about your old high school physics teacher and how nice he was.

I got the coolest thing in the mail yesterday. It was a book. Not just any book, but a book in which my writing happens to reside. This is the first honest-to-god, bound and pretty, not-stapled book-book that I've ever been in. It's called Pindeldyboz, Vol. 2. Now my name is on Amazon and everything. My story is called "We are Claire, You are Not," and it's quite short, which is lucky because all the other stories in there are so great; I'm glad mine didn't take up too much room. You really should check out Pindeldyboz Vol. 2. I recommend buying it, too.

Some people have been commenting on and asking about the kangaroo on this site. What is its name? What is its origin? Do I have a thing for kangaroos, and so on? My co-worker Jamie had the notion of making little clothes for him (I have decided that it's a him) and dressing him up in different outfits on different days, which is a brilliant idea and probably something that is beyond our time. That time probably won't come until we put a member of *NSync in outer space. Anyway, I haven't really decided on what the kangaroo is all about. If you knew the real reason, it would be very disappointing. If you have any good stories to make up about the kangaroo, send them my way and I'll put them here. I'd be interested in knowing what your twisted minds can come up with.

Snow is falling here in Chicago and I have yet to receive a call from the office telling me it's closed. What is this?! Oh yeah, it's Chicago.
