For our 2019 Polar Vortex, my husband was stuck in California and the boys' school was closed for two days, so cooking and eating was an endeavor to keep the house warm, stay busy, use up what was in the house and just give up entirely. Here are some things I made and the kids ate over the last three days:
Homemade croutons (to go with this tomato soup which was already in the slow cooker)
A gold rush but with lime because it was what I had.
The boubon and scotch people gave my husband for his 40th birthday.

A bloody mary
Ring pops left over from Halloween
At a friend's house: about 7 ounces of manchego and coffee with Bailey's in it
