I am not good at being nice when you are sick. It is just not how I roll. Unless I gave birth to you I am not good at touching you lovingly and asking "How are you feeling?" or saying "I'm sorry you feel so bad" and meaning it with great sincerity. I do want you to feel better. But here are the ways I show it:
- buying you Gatorade at the store, whatever flavor is your favorite
- buying you medicine you should take
- telling you you should take that medicine
- telling you you should go to the doctor
- watching the kids while you're sick
- making and bringing you food while you are sick
End of list.
These are truly my preferred ways of showing I care when you are sick. Possibly because when I am sick, I just want to be left alone and those are the things I would most want done for me. Perhaps I might also text a doctor friend to make sure things sound normal on your behalf. But that's it. I have a very bad track record in terms of bedside sympathy. I know this. I'm working on it.
Anyway, on the very outside chance that we become a copule, you should know that.

Glad that I am not the only one with no bedside manner.
