Since January I've been doing the Kayla Itsines program Bikini Body (ugh, that name!). Don't you worry--I will give a detailed review of the guide in May. But one thing I like about her program is that I can do it at home, with minimal equipment. Any exercise I can do without leaving the house or even putting on shoes is one I like. The first few weeks I exercised to music, but for some reason, working out in my basement to the tunes of the Katy Perry Pandora station wasn't inspiring me, so I put on the TV. These are the shows I consistently exercise to:
- New Girl
- Black-ish
- Brooklyn Nine-Nine
It's a short list, but they meet the following important criteria:
- My husband doesn't watch them so I don't have to save them for him.
- They're light (most of the time.) It wasn't very fun exercising to the new The X-Files or the 30 for 30 about the Duke rape scandal.
- They're not so image-heavy that I will miss something if I look away from the screen while I'm doing a burpee or a traveling lunge.
- They're a half hour long, which motivates me to get the workout done quickly and not dilly-dally too much between circuts.
Also, apparently I am attracted to shows that require fact-checking when it comes to accurate punctuation.
