Later this month my mother-in-law, Barbara "Tudy" Delahoyde, will be retiring after working with the U-Haul corporation for nearly 47 years, which is pretty incredible. Here is a photo of her and her groom (my father-in-law) on her wedding day on January 30, 1971--she had already been working with the company by four years at this point. She says, "We were going from the church to the reception hall, and the camera person just happened to asked us to turn around at that moment. The U-Haul truck was in the right place at the right time."
(Here's one more photo of them for fun, not in front of a U-Haul truck):
It just so happens that U-Haul is currently running a campaign asking users to submit photos of themselves that could be featured on the trucks, and the corporation is going to feature Stan and Tudy's wedding photo on 13 different trucks. The trucks are already on the road, in fact! Go here and see if there's one near you and please keep your eyes open and your cameras ready. If you happen to see Stan and Tudy's truck, please snap a photo and send it my way. I have always been annoyed that I have never seen an "Illinois" U-Haul truck, but I might be mollified if I see one with my husband's parents on it.Â
