FunnyHaHaSteve-large-thumb-autox988-663.jpgIt's snowing again. It's not that much fun anymore. But eventually, it's going to end, right? It has to. In the meantime, I want to tease some events I'm going to be involved in over the next eight months for you to put on your calendar. Eight months you say? Why do I care about what's happening eight months from now? If you read all the way through, you'll understand why.

February 21: Funny Ha-Ha: Movie Edition. I wrote about this already so you can find out about it all here.

March 21: Women of Letters at the Mayne Stage. I am thrilled to be participating in this international show, curated by Marieke Hardy and Michaela McGuire. The premise involves five or six female writers, performers, actors, politicians, and artists (who will also include Kate Harding, Wendy McClure and more) joining together to revive the lost art of letter writing. Each guest is given a topic in advance ('A letter to the night I'd rather forget' 'A letter to my unfinished business'), they write a letter and read it aloud on the night. The Australian shows have been such a literary phenomenon that three collections have been published by Penguin - the most recent released in November 2013.

April 17: World Book Night at Women and Children First. In celebration of World Book Night (WBN), Women & Children First Bookstore will be hosting an author reading on Thursday, April 17th at 7:30 PM. In the spirit of this national event, they asking local writers to share a passage or two from one of their childhood favorites. I will be reading (I'm not sure what, yet) with local lovelies like Megan Stielstra and Sandi Wisenberg. World Book Night is an annual event that distributes half a million free books to individuals who wouldn't otherwise have access.

May 16: Funny Ha-Ha, 6:30-8 PM at the Hideout. I don't have a title for this show yet but I'm happy to say that the show will feature a mix of old and new friends, including Monte LaMonte, Mimi Smartypants, Erica Reid and Steve Gadlin. Stay tuned to hear the full lineup!

September 19: Introducing Funny Ha-Ha. Again. 7-9 PM at the Hideout. I can't believe this, but later this year it will be ten years since our very first show, and to celebrate, we're throwing a party involving the original lineup. This includes my original co-host John Green along with Amy Krouse Rosenthal, Steve Delahoyde, Nathan Rabin, Mark Bazer and Kevin Guilfoile, with comedy from Schadenfreude. We'll have music and fun afterwards. You won't want to miss this show. Book your babysitter now!
