Does George Bush Care About Black People?

Well, care might be a little much. I don't really know black people that well, you know? They always seemed very nice and I've enjoyed getting to know them the extent that I do. I enjoy some of their music, I've met very smart ones, good-looking ones. They've helped me out on the job and in my personal life. Sometimes I even talk football with Condi. Sure, I like black people. But care about them? I'm sure I would have no problem caring about them but honestly I would be exaggerating if I said I cared about them just because I don't know them that well yet. I care about Hispanics but that's just because I've known them for so long.

So yeah, I like black people. Oh, do I like-like them? Who's asking? Who wants to know? Jeez. Um. Well you know, if I say no, it's not because it's a 'black' thing. Like I said, I just haven't gotten to know them that well. Sure, every once in a while I think about it, but I've sort of got this thing going on with Laura right now, which prevents me from...you're sure you're not asking on anyone's behalf? Are you going to tell anyone? Did they write me a note or something?

Okay I think about black people every once in awhile but I don't want this to get blown out of proportion, okay? I don't want you going back to black people and saying "George Bush thinks about you a lot and likes you and cares about you!" and then they come to me expecting me to take them to the movies or to the dance or invite them to stay on my ranch or something and then I have to say no and it's really awkward. I'm just being honest but I don't want any broken hearts. Trust me, there was this whole awkward thing with Tony Blair when he heard I said that I loved Great Britain...

I like black people. And maybe I could care for them...one day. But for now, let's just keep it casual and on the down-low, all right? Okay, let's head to lunch.
