Choosing NCAA picks

Today is the day to stand up if you are, in fact, the real Slim Shady.

So the excitement of the NCAA is over, but for me, it ended pretty much after the second round. Yes, part of it had to do that it was quite apparent that I would not be winning my office pool, and that none of the four teams I selected for the Final Four actually made it there. But I like the general crapshoot of the opening bracket. Picking underdogs is the best; that's when you get to use nonsense rationale. "Well, my brother goes to Davidson, so I hope they win," "I like saying 'Pepperdine.' I'll put them down to upset," or, "I'm sick of Duke winning. If I say they lose, they will." Sometimes it works, and sometimes it doesn't. What a crazy time of year! They should call it Insanity Springtime, or something like that. I think the final rounds are usually pretty boring. The only real thrill is if your school is in it (hey, Georgetown, way to go) or if a school you really hate is in it, so you can cheer against them. Neither of which happened. Oh well. Time for baseball.

But isn't this funny...the baseball season has started and it's still snowing in the Chicagoland area! So that's sort of hard to get a grip on. Plus, I hear the Olympics are over, too. What's a girl to do? Either jump back on the NBA bandwagon (unlikely) or pick up the rules of hockey.

Or, just do something else.
