My spring breaks

MARCH 6, 2002

Today is the day to listen to Elvis Costello's "Sulky Girl" and hear how much is sounds like "Zulkey Girl"

My brother is home from school on spring break this week, bringing me many fond memories of my spring breaks. They were absolutely thrilling in each and every way, throughout college, making me the envy of students everywhere. Here's a quick rundown:

Freshman year: Went home to Chicago.

Sophomore year: Very similar, only I was one year older.

Junior year: Went to Egypt with my boyfriend Justin and some other kids from Georgetown. Okay, that was pretty cool. I got to see some pyramids, ride a camel, check out the Egyptian medical system after Justin stepped on a sea anemone, and then, later, check out the Italian health care system (I was abroad in Florence) as I got very, very ill. Note to you guys: when they tell you not to drink the water someplace, they really mean it.

Senior year: Justin and I decided to rent a house on the beach.
In Delaware.
Of course it was very romantic but there was also a huge snowstorm and I believe we only got one cable station, which meant that I watched a lot of "A Dating Story" and "A Wedding Story" and "A Makeover Story" and so on. I didn't get very tan.

Of course, spring break is always a nice thing to have anyway, but I thought I'd switch my stories up for the future, so in case anybody asks, this is how I really spent my spring breaks:

Freshman year: Rocked out in Ibiza! Was featured on "Wild on E!" Did mad body shots and practiced mad body rockin'.

Sophomore year: Hot time in Cancun! Danced at Senor Frog's and hung out with MTV Spring Break crew.

Junior year: Went to Egypt and THEN kicked it in Palm Beach! Me and the girls (and Britney Spears) and I drove down, having lots of adventures along the way. We met some famous, people, too, and got totally wasted!

Senior year: I'm keeping the Delaware story.

So, what did you do on your fake spring break? Drop me a line and regale me.
