A soon to be repaved street is a beautiful thing. #ridgeville

Good:

  1. When you have dinner with a person you knew from school but were never close friends with back then and you talk about motherhood and her perspective of high school and she becomes a new-old friend. And also she tells you about the great new Whole Foods on Green Bay Road.

  2. When a guy you were high school buddies with becomes your alderman and you message him on Facebook being like "Congrats! Fix my potholes? JK. But seriously" and your potholes get fixed a few months later (I realize this probably has nothing to do with me but I like to think I made it happen.)

  3. When you take your dog to be put to sleep and you break down and sob in the vet's office and you cry on the chest of your high school friend who works there--and she also happens to be also one of your favorite writers.

Bad:

  1. When you run into some former high school girls you know at the beach a month after you had a baby and you're wearing a swimsuit and are thinking "Ah hi, I can't tell if I'm dying inside or truly don't care about how I look anymore."
