List: Pies for people who can't deal with baking actual pies

This is my first sponsored post, but when Foodie gave me the opportunity to write about pies (in honor of Pi Day--you can never prepare too soon!), I freaked. Because the thing is, I suuuuuck so bad when it comes to baking anything with a nice dough. Don't ask me why--I think I am otherwise a pretty smart, accomplished person who can follow directions, but if there is something where there's a rolling pin involved, or you have to let a dough rest or rise or wrap it up into little discs and put it in the fridge for some time, the result is always me screaming and throwing the results down the drain and feeling like a total failure. Just ask my husband, because this happened the last time I attempted to make my own pizza dough.

But then I realized, I actually do make pies: they just don't resemble the traditional type nice even-keeled bakers with cute aprons who aren't crying make. Mine involve shortcuts and sometimes liberal interpretations of what a pie ought to look like. So if you're like me and are missing the typical pie-baking gene, here is a collection of recipes of sweet and savory pie-like recipes that I've enjoyed over the years. Because a pie that you had a meltdown over is not a pie worth making.
