This especially goes out to the young men, who can sometimes be the dumbest.

Nobody is impressed if you don't wear a coat when it's cold.

I first noticed this with my younger brother, but it also extends sometimes to my husband and young guys on the street and I think was prevalent in grade school during recess. But there seems to be a thing where guys think it's somehow cool to run around in freezing temperatures without a coat on.

So here's what you need to know. This impresses nobody.

Okay, maybe, conceivably, there is some idiot out there who looks at a guy wearing a tee-shirt when it's 10 and thinks "Man, that guy's hardcore." But I think most people would look at that guy and think "Man, what an ass." There are so many other ways to be a tough guy than to not wear a coat.

So if you are fortunate enough that you can actually own a coat, just put the damn thing on. You look so dumb.
