Today I came upon two really amazing dog-hero stories in the New York Times, one  about retired 9/11 search-and-rescue dogs, another about a dog who comforted a 15-year-old rape victim while she testified in court. I just want to run home and cuddle my own (useless but still adorable) dog.

Every now and then it becomes glaringly obvious to me that the "cats vs. dogs" argument is entirely farcical because it's not even a fair fight. Although I guess that fancy cat that eats from the crystal dish is a hero in its own right.

And while perhaps not as traditionally heroic, this bulldog should be commended for being totally rad.
