First, I have some stuff about the AV Club today: my writeup of last night's "Idol," a writeup for this week's "Podmass" (the Weird Al Yankovic interview) and my too-late thoughts on how to improve awards season.
So next week (March 13) I'm going to be participating in a very fun (some would say sexy, even) event with Steppenwolf Theatre and my colleague-pal Emily Gould. It's called "Sexy Sundays," and we will be having a discussion about the writer's life off and online following the play Sex with Strangers, which covers related themes. I'm really looking forward to it: Patrons can buy tickets on the web through that link or call Steppenwolf's box office directly. Tickets are $5 but everyone who attends can get 2 for 1 tickets to Sex with Strangers.
There are also some other spots to catch me around town if you're interested. I will be speaking at the NIU Children's Literature conference the Friday before that (March 11). March 28 I will be appearing at Hungry Brain for "You, Me, Them, Everybody." April 16 I will be talking as part of A Day With Northwestern. And then way off in the distant future, May 10 is the next Funny Ha-Ha so stay tuned for details.
Hope to see you at one of these events!
